The Department of Chemistry was established in the year 2004 and has  evolved into one of the key cornerstones of the institution. Although it had a limited number of faculty members and a small number of students in the initial stages, the department has witnessed significant growth in both areas over time.

• Chemistry's central role in connecting other sciences, such as biology, physics, geology, and environmental science, provides a rich foundation for exploring various physical and biological phenomena.
• Chemistry graduates possess extensive knowledge of chemicals, medicinal compositions, and scientific technology, leading to numerous well-paying job opportunities in both government and private sectors. They also have the insight and confidence to pursue higher studies.
   

Challenges:

• To better motivate students and focus their interest on chemistry studies, the department needs to make the subject more relevant and engaging.
•  The department faces challenges in acquiring funds for research projects, which hinders the ability to improve faculty members and the department as a whole.
