“GOVT. SERCHHIP COLLEGE STUDENTS’ UNION”
The Students’ Union of Govt. Serchhip College is established to foster a healthy fraternity among the students of the College. It aims to cultivate positive relationships between students, faculty, and non-teaching staff, and to support the College administration in maintaining peace, discipline, and the overall development of the institution. Most importantly, the Union is dedicated to safeguarding and upholding the rights and interests of all students collectively.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of the Union shall be:
- To promote mutual contact and spirit of oneness among the students of the College Students’ Union Constitution.
- To promote social, cultural and intellectual development of the students of the College.
- To promote closer relations between the students and teachers of the College
- To represent the College students in the InterCollege and Inter-University functions and activities
- To make concrete and constructive suggestions to the Principal form time to time
- With regard to the regulations of extra academic activities and in matters concerning the general welfare of the students
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for STUDENTS' UNION ELECTIONS
Eligibility for Vice-President and General Secretary:
- Final Year Students Only: Only students in the 5th Semester are eligible to contest for the positions of Vice-President and General Secretary.
Eligibility for All Other Offices:
- Senior Students: Students in the 3rd and 5th Semesters are eligible to contest for other positions in the Students’ Union.
All candidates must meet the following criteria/requirement:
- Academic Requirements:
- Must have cleared all previous University examinations with no due papers.
- Legal and Disciplinary Requirements:
- Must not have been convicted by any court in India for any criminal offense.
- Must not have been punished by the College or University for any act of indiscipline or use of unfair means in an examination.
These criteria ensure that candidates for the Students’ Union are academically sound, legally compliant, and uphold the standards of discipline and integrity set by the institution.
