Sports Infrastructures of the institution
History:
The college library began in a small, congested room in 1978, initially overseen by one lecturer. Since 1985, it has been managed by a library assistant. In 2005, a full-time college librarian with UGC payscale was appointed, along with three supporting staff. The library continues to progress, meeting the evolving and diverse information needs of its users.
Following educational experts' recommendations, the college has a dedicated library building with a plinth area of 2,112 sq. ft. Constructed with UGC funds during the IX plan, it was extended and renovated during the XI plan. Centrally located on campus and easily accessible, the building is designed for both horizontal and vertical expansion.

One 5G Training Lab has been set up in Mizoram in Government Serchhip College, Mizoram. These can be used by the State Government to train telecom technicians for O & M of Telecom Infra in Gram Panchayats, support ecosystem / environment for startups, engineers, teachers, entrepreneurs and students in Telecom / IOT (internet of things), AI applications and Edge Computing.
5G Health Use Cases Deployed In Serchhip:
i. AI Based Cataract Analysis Using Smart Phones
ii. AI Technology For Respiratory Health Through Audiometric Analysis of Cough Sounds
iii. AI Based Drip Monitoring For IPD Patients by Attending Nurses
iv. Mobile / Cloud Based ECG Solution (30 Units)

Future For Mizoram:
a. Strengthening of Primary Healthcare Screening infra in PHCs using funds with Border Area Development Program.
b. Improve digital infra at grassroots level through Multi Taksing Telecom Technician Courses.
The installation of the Dental 3D Spoke at Government Serchhip College was completed in June 2024 .This welcome development which is a part of the PM-DeviNE Project is expected to be a valuable asset for skill development and to greatly benefit the students.
Additionally, It will be beneficial for the community in the following ways:
a. Reducing the time taken to create impressions for dental treatments such as crowns, bridges, and dentures.
b. Providing custom-fit dental products, thereby reducing repeat OPD visits.
c. Lowering out-of-pocket expenses for travel to Aizawl and other NER cities for dental treatment.
There are a total of 17 classrooms, 8 of which are designated as smart classrooms, fully equipped with projectors and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The institution boasts two main halls: a Multipurpose Hall and a Seminar Hall. These facilities are designed to accommodate a wide range of activities, providing versatile spaces for both educational and recreational purposes.
1. Multipurpose Hall - HD Rosanga Multipurpose Hall
The HD Rosanga Multipurpose Hall, named in honor of the institution's founding Principal, is a spacious facility that can accommodate up to 500 people. This makes it ideal for large gatherings, events, and various functions.
Facilities and Features:
- (1) Badminton Court: The hall is equipped with a well-carpeted badminton court, complete with all necessary lighting to ensure an optimal playing environment. This feature encourages physical activity and sportsmanship among students and staff.
- (2) Table Tennis Board: In addition to the badminton court, the hall includes a table tennis (TT) board, providing another option for indoor sports and recreational activities.
- (3) Stage Area: The presence of a stage area enhances the hall’s versatility, making it suitable for hosting different types of functions such as cultural events, performances, presentations, and ceremonies.
2. Seminar Hall:
The Seminar Hall is designed to seat up to 100 people and is ideal for smaller gatherings, such as lectures, seminars, workshops, and meetings. The hall offers a professional and focused ambiance, making it an ideal setting for academic and professional events. Additionally, the hall is equipped with modern smart features, including a projector, smart lectern, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The 11 staff quarters are nestled amidst abundant greenery, providing a cool and serene environment.
