YOUTH ADVENTURE CLUB OF GSC PARTICIPATED IN STATE-LEVEL MOCK EXERCISE ON FLOOD AND LANDSLIDE DISASTER IN MIZORAM

On 14th November 2024, 7 members of the Youth Adventure Club (YAC) participated in a State-Level Mock Exercise on Flood and Landslide Disaster in Serchhip District organized by the District Disaster Management Authority, Serchhip District, and the National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

YAC members were deployed as a search and rescue team to respond to a simulated emergency, locating and assisting “victims” in need. They were assigned to Presbyterian English School (PES), one of the incident sites from the staging area. Equipped with basic rescue tools, the team gained valuable hands-on experience, building skills in teamwork and response techniques.

This drill is essential for enhancing disaster readiness for both YAC and the community. Involving youth fosters awareness, ensuring a quicker, more organized response in actual emergencies.
