World Environment Day was observed by the NSS Unit and Eco Club of Government Serchhip College (GSC) in collaboration with Swachh Bharat, PHE Department, Serchhip Division. As part of the event, the PHE Department donated two dustbins, which were strategically placed near the local community hall. Students from the NSS and Eco Club, accompanied by one NSS Programme Officer and one Green Teacher, carried out a cleanliness drive, collecting plastic waste from the college gate up to the College Peng junction. Along the way, local residents expressed their appreciation with kind words, inspiring the participants with the hope that their efforts would not only result in temporary cleanliness but also raise awareness among bystanders about the importance of combating plastic pollution—a cause that strongly aligns with the theme of World Environment Day 2025: #BeatPlasticPollution.
