WELCOME WEEK -DAY 1 OF ORIENTATION


Orientation Program for I Semester Day 1 – 2nd July 2025
The Orientation Programme for the first semester students of the 2025–2026 academic session at Government Serchhip College commenced on 2nd July 2025 at 10:00 AM in Room B-202, Academic Block. The event was a part of the GSC Welcome Week and aimed to introduce new students to the campus environment, rules, and academic structure.

The session was hosted by Mrs Jeanie Lalthanpari Poonte. It began with a warm welcome and an address on Discipline by Mr. C. Laldintluanga, Principal of the College who emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum, punctuality, and responsibility in college life. Following this, Mr. K. Lalrinchhana gave a comprehensive talk on Campus Life, encouraging students to actively participate in the vibrant and inclusive culture of GSC.

A session on the National Education Policy (NEP) was conducted by Mrs. Jeanie Lalthanpari Poonte, who elaborated on the academic reforms and the flexibility offered in the new curriculum framework. Students were then introduced to the Multi-Disciplinary Course (MDC) system through departmental orientations by respective faculties.

In continuation of the orientation on 3rd July, additional sessions relevant to student support and engagement were held. Mentoring was addressed by Dr. Lalremsiami Hrahsel, who highlighted the college’s mentoring system and its role in providing academic and emotional support to students throughout their academic journey. Feedback mechanisms were discussed by Dr. Lalhmangaihzela, who encouraged students to utilize feedback as a constructive tool for self-improvement and communication. Additionally, Mrs. Malsawmthluangi spoke about the various Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) offered by the college, urging students to balance academics with creative and physical pursuits for holistic development
