On 5th March, 2025, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government Serchhip College organized a community outreach program at Thenzawl Road, Serchhip. The activity focused on weeding the plantation site and preparing firelines through 'Mei lam Sial', a traditional practice for shifting cultivation.

A team comprising 6 male volunteers, 2 Program Officers, and 2 faculty members participated in the activity. Volunteers diligently cleared weeds, burned debris, and inspected the existing fencing. This initiative aimed to promote community engagement, environmental conservation, and cultural preservation.
