THREE DAY POSH ACT MASTER TRAINERS’ TRAINING

A three-day Training of Master Trainers on the Prevention of Women from Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013 was held from 28th to 30th January 2026 at Lianchhiari Run, I&PR, Aizawl. The programme was jointly organised by SAKSHI–Delhi and the Directorate of Women and Child Development, Mizoram. This training was attended by Lalramnghaki, Assistant Professor of Government Serchhip College, who was one of the representatives from Serchhip District.

REPORT:
The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Zoramthangi Chhangte, Director, Women and Child Development. Welcome remarks were delivered by Ms. Sailopari, Joint Director, followed by a keynote address by Ms. Flora Laltanpuii, Deputy Director (Women) and State Nodal Officer (POSH Act). The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Lalrammawii Kawilam, Assistant Director and State Nodal Officer (Samarthya). A total of 54 nominated officials from all districts of Mizoram participated in the programme. The training sessions were conducted by resource persons from SAKSHI–Delhi.

Day 1

The first day focused on key legislations related to the protection of women, namely the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

Day 2

The second day was devoted to the POSH Act, 2013, with sessions on understanding workplace sexual harassment, its impact, power relations, and unwelcome behaviour as well as an overview of the UGC POSH Regulations and the SHE-Box portal. The sessions were interactive and included presentations and role-play activities.

Day 3

The third day began with a recap of the previous sessions and covered the functioning of the Internal Committee, fact-finding procedures, documentation, timelines and reporting, case studies, and action planning. The programme concluded with the distribution of participation certificates.
