SUCCESFUL TWO DAY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ORGANIZED IN COLLABORATION WITH ZO HUMANITIES


The Two-Day International Conference on Recent Trends in Education, Humanities and Social Sciences (RTEHSS) was jointly organized by Zo Humanities and the Research Committee, Government Serchhip College, on 21–22 July 2026 at Government Serchhip College. The conference was held under the theme "Interdisciplinary Synergies: Reimagining Contemporary Discourses across Education, the Humanities and the Social Sciences." The event brought together academicians, researchers, faculty members, and research scholars from universities and institutions across India and Bhutan, providing an excellent platform for scholarly exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and dissemination of research findings.

The conference commenced with the Inaugural Function, chaired by Dr. Zarzosanga, Organizing Secretary and Head, Department of Political Science, Government Serchhip College. Mr. C. Laldintluanga, Principal of Government Serchhip College and Patron of the conference, delivered the welcome address. The inaugural keynote address was delivered by Prof. Lalbiakdiki Hnamte, Professor and Head, Department of Education, Mizoram University, who highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary research in addressing contemporary academic and societal challenges. A special address was delivered by Ms. Debbie Lalrinawmi, Zo Humanities, and Felicitation of the Special Guests was carried out by Ms. Lalrochami Ralte, Convener and Board member, Zo Humanities. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs. Jeanie Lalthanpari Poonte, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of BCA, Government Serchhip College.

The academic programme comprised eight parallel technical sessions conducted over two days in two seminar halls. The sessions were chaired by distinguished academicians, namely Dr. K. Lalrinchhana, Dr. L.K. Lalbiakfeli, Mrs. Jeanie Lalthanpari Poonte, Dr. Lalremsiami Hrahsel, Dr. C. Lalrinzuala, Mrs. H. Lalrinfeli, Rodingpuii, and Dr. L.K. Lalbiakfeli. Each session began with keynote lectures delivered by eminent scholars, including Dr. Aparna Vincent, Assistant Professor, Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore; Dr. Dwaipayan Roy, Assistant Professor, Department of English, RN Tagore Foundation, West Bengal; and Dr. Tiatemsu Longkumer, Senior Lecturer, Royal Thimphu College, Bhutan.

The technical sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation from academicians, faculty members, and research scholars representing diverse institutions. Research papers spanning education, literature, history, sociology, political science, economics, psychology, philosophy, social work, gender studies, public policy, and other interdisciplinary fields were presented and discussed. The sessions facilitated meaningful academic interactions, constructive feedback from experts, and opportunities for networking, thereby fostering collaboration among researchers from different disciplines.

The conference concluded with the Valedictory Function, chaired by Rodingpuii, Organizing Member and Board Member of Zo Humanities and Social Sciences Research Hub. Participants shared their feedback on the conference, highlighting the quality of the academic deliberations and the collaborative atmosphere. Participation certificates were distributed to all presenters, and the Best Presenter Award was conferred to Vanlalchhungi, Research Scholar, Department of Psychology, PUC in recognition of her outstanding research presentation. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms Debbie Lalrinawmi, expressing sincere gratitude to the keynote speakers, session chairs, presenters, delegates, organizing committee, volunteers, and all participants for contributing to the successful conduct of the conference. The programme concluded with a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the two-day international conference.
