SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION IN OBSERVANCE OF WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY 2025

The Mentoring Cell of Government Serchhip College organized a Slogan Writing Competition on 10th September 2025, on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day 2025. A total of 118 participants enthusiastically submitted their entries, writing slogans in Mizo, the local language, with the aim of reaching out to the widest possible audience in a meaningful and relatable way.

After careful evaluation, the top three slogans were selected:

First Prize: Lalruattluanga, I Semester B.A. "Thihna meuh pawh i hlau lo a nih chuan, nung turin huaisenna i nei."

Second Prize: Elizabeth Lalchhanchhuahi, V Semester B.A. "Ngaithla la, tuarpuina lantir la, beiseina pe rawh - i tanpuina hian nunna a chhanhim thei a ni."

Third Prize: Lalfelfamkima, I Semester B.A. "Hrehawm i tuar maw? Mi engzatin nge tuar chhuak tawh tih ngaihtuah thin ang che."

The Mentoring Cell expresses its deep appreciation to all the participants for their creativity, sincerity, and willingness to engage with such an important issue. The overwhelming response and the depth of thought reflected in the entries highlighted how deeply concerned students are about mental health and suicide prevention. The Cell is greatly encouraged and inspired by the students’ sense of responsibility and empathy, recognizing that such active participation not only creates awareness but also fosters a culture of care, support, and openness within the campus community.

To further spread awareness, these top slogans were also circulated through the college’s official social media platforms, thereby reaching a wider audience beyond the campus.
