SEMINAR ON 'INDIA'S INDEPENDENCE MOVEMENT: A JOURNEY TO FREEDOM'

A seminar on the topic ‘India’s Independence Movement: A Journey to Freedom’ was organized by the Department of History in collaboration with the NSS Unit, Govt. Serchhip College in an observance of India’s freedom struggle to achieve independence.

The seminar commenced with an inaugural address by Mr. K. Lalrinchhana, Head of the Department of History, who emphasized the importance of understanding India’s struggle for independence. This was followed by a keynote presentation by Mr. K. Vanlalpeka, Assistant Professor, Dept. of History, who provided a comprehensive overview of the independence movement. The seminar presentation was followed and concluded with a vote of thanks, proposed by Dr. Lalhmangaihzuala, Programme Officer, NSS Unit to the participants, presenters and organizers for their participation and contribution to the seminar’s success.

A total of 48 NSS volunteers, along with faculty members and Programme Officers, attended the seminar. The participants gained valuable insights into the historical context, key events and personalities that shaped the independence movement.
