SEMINAR ON EMPOWERING YOUTH IN FOOD PROCESSING ENTERPRISES


Serchhip, Mizoram – February 28, 2025

In observance of National Science Day, a seminar titled "Empowering Youths to Become Owners of Food Processing Enterprises" was successfully organized at Government Serchhip College. The event was jointly conducted by Mizoram Food and Allied Industries Corporation Limited (MIFCO) and the Science Departments of the college with around 100 participants.

The seminar was chaired by Mrs. Jeanie Poonte, Assistant Professor, who efficiently guided the proceedings. The program began with a welcome speech by Mr.C. Laldintluanga, Principal, GSC followed by an insightful introductory speech by Mr. Lalthazuala Rawite, Chairman of MIFCO. He emphasized the significance of entrepreneurship in the food processing industry, highlighting its potential to generate employment and enhance economic growth in Mizoram.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Zosangliana, General Manager of MIFCO. He provided valuable insights into the various government initiatives supporting food processing enterprises, shared success stories, and encouraged students to explore opportunities in the sector.

The event witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, who engaged in meaningful discussions and queries related to business development, financial assistance, and the latest technological advancements in food processing.

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by the chairman, acknowledging the speakers, and attendees for their enthusiastic involvement.
