The session was conducted by Dr. Remlalruata, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, who served as the resource person. He also discussed greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, and their contribution to global warming and climate change.

The resource person highlighted the rising levels of global carbon emissions due to industrialization, transportation, and energy consumption, emphasizing the need for sustainable practices. He introduced the concept of carbon footprint as the total greenhouse gas emissions generated by human activities and explained simple methods to calculate it based on electricity, fuel, and LPG usage.

The seminar also focused on practical ways to reduce carbon footprint, including energy conservation, use of renewable energy, sustainable transportation, waste reduction, and eco-friendly lifestyle choices.
