Government Serchhip College is truly fortunate to have a teacher like Dr. NB Sachhei, Associate Professor, who continued to teach without pay after his retirement on August 31, 2024. With his departure, the Zoology department was left with just two teachers, sparking concerns about the students’ learning experience. However, Dr. Sachhei selflessly stepped in, ensuring a seamless continuation of education.

For the last three months, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication, teaching without compensation. Known for his discipline and commitment, he arrives punctually at 9 am each day, meticulously maintaining student profiles and class logs, which the Principal reviews weekly. Although he initially aimed to produce 10 University rank holders in Zoology, the COVID-19 pandemic posed challenges—but he still guided 7 students to achieve University ranks.

Dr. Sachhei’s passion and dedication are a true source of inspiration for the entire college community, exemplifying the remarkable impact of a single devoted educator.
