REPORT ON VIKSIT BHARAT YOUTH PARLIAMENT AT THE INDIAN PARLIAMENT HOUSE, NEW DELHI

Our student, Maria Zomuanpuii, one of the three representatives from Mizoram at the National Youth Parliament 2025, returned home on 4th April after a two-day stay in New Delhi. Here's what she had to say about her experience:

Report on My Experience at the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament

Attending the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament at the Indian Parliament House in Delhi on April 1 and 2 was an unforgettable experience. The event focused on the idea of One Nation, One Election and the launch of this special youth initiative.

I had the opportunity to participate in the Opening Remarks, while my friends took part in different sessions—one in the Question and Answer Round, and another in a Short Discussion. It was inspiring to be part of such meaningful conversations about India's future.

One of the highlights of our visit was on April 2, when we had the chance to attend a session in the Rajya Sabha. Watching the proceedings live gave me a deeper appreciation for how India’s democracy functions. It was fascinating to see lawmakers debate and discuss policies that shape the nation.

Throughout the program, I learned a lot—not just about politics and governance, but also about myself. I realized the importance of confidence, clear communication, and critical thinking. However, one of the biggest challenges we faced was the language barrier. Since we don’t speak Hindi fluently, we couldn’t engage as much in Hindi discussions. It was a bit frustrating, but it also motivated me to improve my language skills.

The event ended with a grand Award Ceremony, led by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports. Seeing such distinguished leaders up close was truly inspiring.

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to my college teachers and our Principal Mr C Laldintluanga for their constant support and belief in me. Their encouragement gave me the confidence to participate in this prestigious event, and I am truly grateful for their guidance.

Overall, this experience helped me grow, both personally and academically. It gave me a deeper understanding of India’s democracy and made me even more eager to contribute to positive change in the future.
