The Northeast Youth Festival 2025, held from March 17th to 20th in Gangtok, Sikkim, was a great opportunity for students to engage in cultural exchange, leadership activities, and skill development. It brought together young talents from across the northeastern states of India, promoting unity and collaboration through various events and interactions.

Five students from Govt. Serchhip College attended the festival. Two students Lalfakawmi 4th Semester BA and Nancy Lalruatkimi 4th Semester BA participated in Yuva Kriti, where they showcased indigenous artistry, while the other three K. Lalnunhlima 6th Semester Dept of Chemistry, Job Lalremdika 6th Semester
Dept of Chemistry and Chandonmoni Kaipeng 6th Semester Dept of Chemistry participated as NYK volunteers, actively contributing to different youth-driven initiatives and leadership programs. The festival featured workshops, panel discussions, cultural performances, and interactive sessions that allowed participants to learn, share, and grow in a vibrant atmosphere.

The students had the opportunity to witness diverse cultural performances that celebrated the rich heritage of Northeast India. The Yuva Kriti exhibition provided a platform for young artisans to display their traditional and contemporary crafts, while the NYK volunteers engaged in community-driven projects and leadership activities. Beyond the festival, the students also had the chance to explore the beautiful city of Gangtok and experience its local culture. A visit to the snow-covered Nathula route made the journey even more memorable, adding to the overall enriching experience.

Attending the Northeast Youth Festival was a valuable learning experience, offering exposure to new ideas, cultural diversity, and personal growth. It allowed students to showcase their skills, gain insights into leadership and social responsibility, and build meaningful connections with peers from across the region. This festival served as a reminder of the importance of youth in shaping a better future through collaboration and cultural appreciation.
