Under the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, two major schemes—the ST/SC Hub Scheme and PM Vishwakarma Training Centre—are being implemented at Govt. Serchhip College to promote skill development among ST/SC youth and artisans.

ST/SC Hub Scheme:

Focused on weavers and aspiring ST/SC youth, this scheme provides:

Training in advanced weaving, dyeing, and design.

Entrepreneurial and financial literacy training.

Access to modern tools, government subsidies, and loans.

Support for marketing through trade fairs and online platforms.

Mentorship and guidance from successful entrepreneurs.

The goal is to help participants build sustainable livelihoods through MSMEs.

PM Vishwakarma Training Centre:

Launched in November 2024 in collaboration with NSDC, this program offers training in:

Carpentry, Brick Masonry, and Concrete Masonry

40-hour structured training over 6 days

198 trainees completed training in 4 batches so far

Topics include entrepreneurship, marketing, IPR, banking, DPR preparation, and practical sessions

With 5 trainers, the program aims to equip youth with real-world job and self-employment skills under the guidance of the District DC.

Both schemes are empowering ST/SC communities through skill-building, financial support, and market access.
