ONE WEEK LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM

The IQAC of Government Serchhip College successfully organized a Week-Long Leadership Training Programme from 4th to 8th August 2025. The sessions were held each day at 4:00 p.m., after regular classes, ensuring active participation without disturbing academic schedules. Friday session began at 2pm during the CCA period.  Attendees included the Student Union leaders, College Club leaders, and their respective secretaries.

Day 1
The inaugural session featured Rev. Jonathan Pachuau, Counsellor at Family Guidance and Counselling Centre, Serchhip as the Resource Person. He delivered an inspiring talk on the diverse qualities of leadership, its role in every sphere of life, and how students can embody these qualities to positively influence their peers and community.

Day 2
Dr. Zarzosanga, Assistant Professor served as the Resource Person, providing further insight into the essential traits of a good leader. His session emphasized integrity, vision, communication skills, and empathy, with practical examples tailored to the responsibilities of young student leaders.

Day 3
The third session was led by Mr. Lalbeiseisanga and Mr. R. Lalmuanpuia, both alumni and former Student Union leaders of the college, now serving as faculty members in the Departments of Mathematics and Geography respectively. They shared valuable personal experiences from their time as SU leaders—highlighting both challenges and achievements—and offered practical guidance on teamwork, time management, and balancing leadership duties with academics.

Day 4
On the fourth day, Dr. Vanlalsiama Chhangte, Director of the renowned hospital - Ebenezer Medical Centre, Aizawl, Mizoram, was the Resource Person. He recounted his own journey of perseverance, from student life to becoming a respected medical professional and leader in the healthcare sector. Drawing from real-life experiences, he inspired participants to remain resilient, adaptable, and service-minded in the face of challenges.

Day 5 – Conclusion
The final day was dedicated to participant presentations. Many leaders presented case studies on their favourite leaders, discussing their qualities, achievements, and influence. The session turned into an emotional and rewarding experience, as several students reflected on their personal growth, shared heartfelt gratitude to their teachers, and expressed appreciation for the opportunities provided by the college to nurture their personalities.

The concluding session was guided by Mrs. Jeanie Lalthanpari Poonte and Dr. Lalremsiami Hrahsel, both Assistant Professors who also shared their own leadership journeys. They encouraged the participants to lead with vision, humility, dedication, and prayers and to make a lasting positive impact in their communities.

Positive feedback and suggestions were received through google form. The programme, rich with knowledge-sharing, inspiration, and personal reflection, left a lasting impression on the participants, equipping them with the motivation and skills to become confident and capable leaders of tomorrow.
