ONE DAY TRAINING ON DISASTER MANAGEMENT ORGANIZED BY YOUTH ADVENTURE CLUB


The Youth Adventure Club of Government Serchhip College organized a One Day Training (ODT) on Disaster Management, in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Serchhip District on 20th September 2024. The program included an awareness campaign led by trainers from the Quick Response Team (QRT), followed by hands-on training in various rescue methods where 38 members attended the training.

Morning Session (11:00 AM, Room B202):

Community-based rescue method:
1. 1-Person Human Crutch  
2. 2-Person Human Crutch  
3. Fireman’s Lift  
4. Pick-a-Bag  
5. Fore and Aft Carry  

Afternoon Session (1:30 PM, Basketball Court): 
The following Rescue methods were demonstrated  
1. Alpine Basket  
2. C-Pulley  
3. Z-Pulley  
4. Assisted Rescue Method (Ascending)

The training successfully provided participants with vital disaster management skills, increasing their readiness and ability to respond effectively to emergencies.  

Gratitude is expressed to the DDMA and the QRT trainers for their engaging and clear presentation of complex rescue techniques. This training has significantly improved the participants' preparedness and will have a lasting impact on their capacity to handle crisis situations.
