The Department of Zoology, in collaboration with the Wildlife Protection Club and the NSS Unit of Government Serchhip College, observed World Elephant Day on 12 August with the aim of raising awareness about elephant conservation and the importance of protecting wildlife and their natural habitats.
The programme was chaired by Dr. C. Vanlalnghaka. Miss Rebecca Lalduhawmi served as the resource person and delivered an informative talk on elephants, their ecological importance, and the various threats they face. Her presentation provided students with valuable knowledge about elephant conservation and encouraged them to develop a greater sense of responsibility towards wildlife and environmental protection.
The programme was informative, meaningful, and successful in promoting awareness about the need to protect elephants, wildlife, and their natural habitats. It also encouraged students to contribute to conservation efforts and become more responsible towards the environment.
