OBSERVANCE OF SAROJINI NAIDU'S BIRTHDAY

On 13th February 2025, the English Department and Women's Cell of Government Serchhip College jointly organized a commemorative event to honor the birthday of Sarojini Naidu, a trailblazing Indian poet, politician, and women's rights activist. This observance aimed to pay tribute to Naidu's profound contributions to literature and her tireless advocacy for women's empowerment.

The event featured a thought-provoking discussion on some of Naidu's most iconic works, which showcased her literary prowess and feminist sensibilities. Participants deliberated on the thematic concerns, poetic devices, and cultural contexts that characterized Naidu's writing, highlighting her unique voice and perspective.

Through this event, the English Department and Women's Cell sought to not only celebrate Naidu's legacy but also to reiterate the relevance of her ideas and ideals in contemporary society. The observance served as a testament to the enduring impact of Naidu's work on Indian literature and feminism, inspiring students and faculty alike to engage with her creations and continue her fight for social justice.
