OBSERVANCE OF NATIONAL SPACE DAY 2024

National Space Day 2024 was observed by the Department of Physics at Government Serchhip College on August 23, 2024, in commemoration of the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 on August 23, 2023. This mission marked a significant achievement as it landed on the Southern Pole of the moon, making it a unique milestone in lunar exploration.

The event was chaired by Dr. Rebecca Lalngaihawmi, who delivered an opening address highlighting the significance of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. She emphasized the importance of this landmark achievement in advancing our understanding of the moon and its resources.

Dr. Jonathan Lalnunsiama, a resource person from the Department of Physics, presented a lecture on Indian Space programme and various related topics on universe. He also provided an in-depth analysis of the mission's objectives, achievements, and its impact on future space missions.

The Department of Physics extends its sincere thanks to all contributors who made National Space Day 2024 a memorable occasion.
