OBSERVANCE OF NATIONAL ROAD SAFETY MONTH: AWARENESS PROGRAMME HELD AT GOVERNMENT SERCHHIP COLLEGE

Pursuant to the directives issued by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, the NSS Unit of Government Serchhip College organised a Road Safety Awareness Programme on 24th January 2025, at the HD Rosanga Multipurpose Hall. The event, presided over by Dr. C. Vanlalnghaka, NSS Programme Officer, commenced with the introduction of  representatives from the Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Office.

The Resource Person, Jessie Zaithanmawia, ASI, delivered an enlightening speech, elucidating the essential rules and regulations governing traffic. The speaker highlighted the prevalent negligence exhibited by drivers, underscoring the severe consequences of such actions through  examples of real-life incidents. Furthermore, he emphasized the  fines and life-threatening risks associated with non-compliance with traffic regulations.

A productive question-and-answer session ensued, with active participation from students and faculty members. The programme was attended  by approximately 200 students and 10 faculty members. The event concluded with a vote of appreciation, extended by Dr. S Beihrosa, NSS Programme Officer.
