On May 22, 2024, the Eco Club and the Department of Botany at Government Serchhip College celebrated the International Day for Biological Diversity by enhancing campus flora. Native orchids were collected and introduced into the Endemic and Threatened Plant Nursery for ex-situ propagation, with plans to reintroduce them to their natural habitats once their numbers increase. Additionally, endemic species Begonia lushiaensis and Arundinaria phar were moved from the greenhouse to the Mizo Indigenous Fruit Garden and the Demonstration Garden, respectively. Aromatic plant saplings were also added to the greenhouse. Students and teachers participated enthusiastically in these activities.
