On 16 July 2026, the NSS Unit, Government Serchhip College organized an NSS Orientation and My Bharat Registration Drive at the College Seminar Hall. The programme was conducted to familiarize newly enrolled volunteers with the objectives, activities, and values of the National Service Scheme (NSS) while facilitating their registration on the My Bharat digital platform. A total of 145 NSS volunteers participated in the programme, comprising 76 male and 69 female volunteers. The enthusiastic participation reflected the students' keen interest in community service and nation-building activities. The programme was chaired by Mr. C. Ngurdingliana, NSS Programme Officer, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of NSS in developing leadership qualities, social responsibility, discipline, teamwork, and the spirit of voluntary service among students. He encouraged all volunteers to actively participate in NSS programmes and contribute meaningfully to society. The resource person, Dr. S. Beihrosa, NSS Programme Officer, delivered an informative orientation lecture on the aims, objectives, motto ("Not Me But You"), history, and significance of the National Service Scheme. The session also covered the various regular and special camping activities undertaken by NSS volunteers, including environmental conservation, health awareness, disaster management, blood donation, cleanliness drives, and community outreach programmes. The volunteers were encouraged to uphold the ideals of selfless service and become responsible citizens. Following the orientation, Dr. C.
