NER TREK III REPORT NCC ARMY WING


NER TREK III Report (October 15 - October 22, 2024)

On October 14, 2024, four cadets from the Govt. Serchhip College Army Wing began their journey from AR Lammual to attend the NER TREK III in Shillong. The group arrived in Shillong on October 15 at 6:00 a.m. and was warmly welcomed by cadets from Shillong NCC.

The camp, held from October 15 to October 22, commenced with an address by Colonel Vishal Madhok, the Camp Commandant, and the Additional Director General (ADG) of the NER Directorate. On the first day, participants were divided into various houses and groups.

Day 2: Trekking activities began, with the Orange House trekking to Shillong Peak, the White House on the Rhododendron trek, and the Green House visiting the War Memorial and Assam Rifles Museum. In the evening, cadets participated in an Unarmed Combat (UAC) demonstration and practice session.

Day 3: Cadets from St. Anthony’s College took part in the Yuva Bhagidari Program. In the evening, a painting competition was held for all participants.

Day 4: The Orange House trekked to the Rhododendron site, the White House visited the War Memorial and Assam Rifles Museum, and the Green House trekked to Shillong Peak. Later, Dr. Nivedita Malik and her team addressed health-related issues.

Day 5: A tug-of-war competition was conducted, in which cadets from Govt. Serchhip College secured 2nd and 3rd place. The afternoon featured another UAC demonstration and practice session, followed by a Personality Development Program (PDP) session led by a resource person in the evening.

Day 6: Cadets visited popular locations such as Khyndailad (City Centre), Police Bazar, Ward’s Lake, and Hydari Park.

Day 7: The Orange House visited the War Memorial and Assam Rifles Museum, the White House trekked to Shillong Peak, and the Green House embarked on the Rhododendron trek. In the evening, a cultural program was organized, followed by a closing address.

Day 8: The camp concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony and dispersal. The cadets departed on October 22, 2024, and returned to Aizawl on October 23 at 11:00 a.m.
