NATURE WALK AND CLEANLINESS DRIVE AT ENTLANG TOURIST SPOT, SERCHHIP

On March 21st , 2025, in celebration of the International Day of Forests, the Eco Club of Govt. Serchhip College, in collaboration with the Department of Botany and the Department of Mizo, organized a Nature Walk and Cleanliness Drive at Êntlang Tourist Spot, Serchhip.
A total of 30 students participated, accompanied by three faculty members: C. Ngurdingliana (Department of Mizo), Tommy Lalmalsawma (Department of Botany), and Malsawmtluangi (Green Teacher). The team successfully carried out a cleanliness drive in and around Êntlang, contributing to a cleaner and greener environment.
The nature walk was also a great success, as students actively explored the area's diverse flora and fauna, many of which are not commonly found in their local surroundings. Their keen interest in biodiversity highlighted the importance of such educational excursions.
Tommy Lalmalsawma (Department of Botany) served as the resource person, delivering an insightful session on the importance of forests and the various benefits of forest resources. He emphasized how forests play a vital role in supporting human life and livelihoods.
Overall, the event successfully promoted healthy living through nature walks while also encouraging environmental responsibility through the cleanliness drive. It raised awareness about the importance of forest conservation and inspired students to take an active role in protecting and preserving natural resources for a sustainable future.
The event was sponsored by the Mizoram Pollution Control Board, Government of Mizoram.
