NATURE LEARNING TOUR (NLC) BY ECO CLUB, GSC

The Eco Club of Government Serchhip College organized a Nature Learning Tour (NLC) beginning on 2nd February, 2026 departing Mizoram for Guwahati by train. Upon arrival, the team proceeded to a Vulture Breeding Centre, where participants attended an informative session highlighting the ecological importance of vultures and ongoing conservation efforts. The group later continued to Kaziranga for further field-based learning experiences.

At Kaziranga National Park, students participated in both elephant and jeep safaris, where they observed wildlife such as one-horned rhinoceroses, deer, wild buffalo, and various bird species in their natural habitat. The tour also included a visit to a centre utilizing water hyacinth to produce eco-friendly products, promoting awareness of sustainable practices.

On the return journey, the group visited the Orchid Bio-diversity Park and Botanical Garden in Guwahati to learn about orchid conservation and Assamese cultural heritage. The tour concluded with a visit to the Assam State Zoo Cum Botanical Garden, where participants observed a wide range of wildlife, including big cats, bears, giraffes, zebras, and vultures.

The tour provided valuable exposure to biodiversity, conservation initiatives, and sustainable practices while fostering teamwork and lasting memories among the participants.
