The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of our institution celebrated the International Day of Democracy with great enthusiasm and fervor. The program, held today, was attended by ELC members and students from the Department of Political Science. The event was chaired by Lallawmawma, Chairman of the Electoral Literacy Club.

The keynote speech was delivered by Lalruattluanga, Executive Committee Member of the club, on the topic "We the People." In his thought-provoking address, he emphasized the significance of democracy and the crucial role that citizens play in its functioning. He highlighted the importance of people's involvement in the democratic process, stressing that democracy is not just a system of governance but a way of life.

The speaker elaborated on the phrase "We the People," underscoring that democracy is of the people, by the people, and for the people. He discussed how citizens can contribute to the democratic process through active participation in elections, public debates, and discussions. He also touched upon the importance of critical thinking, informed decision-making, and responsible citizenship in a democratic setup.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Vice Chairman of the ELC. He expressed gratitude to all attendees, the speaker, and the organizing committee for their contributions to the success of the program.
