The YUVA Tourism Club of Government Serchhip College proudly secured the 2nd Position in the Tourism Ideathon 2026, organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Mizoram. The award was presented during the World Tourism Day 2026 celebration held on 28 September 2026 at Zo Hall, Chaltlang.

The Department of Tourism, Government of Mizoram, celebrated World Tourism Day 2026 on 28 September 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Zo Hall, Chaltlang. The theme for this year was “Digital Agenda & Artificial Intelligence to Redesigning Tourism.” The programme was graced by Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, as the Chief Guest.

The celebration featured a welcome speech, Responsible Travel Pledge, an address on World Tourism Day, and cultural performances. The Mizoram Tourism Excellence Awards and the Tourism Ideathon 2026 Awards were among the major highlights of the programme.

The Tourism Ideathon 2026 was conducted on 18 September 2026, providing a platform for participants to present innovative ideas for the promotion and development of tourism in Mizoram. The YUVA Tourism Club of Government Serchhip College participated in the competition and emerged as the 2nd Position holder. The award was presented during the World Tourism Day celebration by Pi C. Ramsangzuali, Tourist Officer.

The college team comprised Jacinta Malsawmhlui, 5th Semester B.Sc; C. Lalruathlua, 3rd Semester BCA; VL. Hriatpuia, 3rd Semester B.A.; and Vanlalhriatpuia, 1st Semester B.Sc.

The team was accompanied and guided by the dedicated Teacher In-charges, Miss Lalmalsawmi, Department of English, and Sir Lalhmangaihzuala, Department of Mathematics. Their constant guidance, encouragement, and support contributed greatly to the team’s successful participation.

The YUVA Tourism Club also extends its sincere appreciation to all its members whose hard work, dedication, and teamwork contributed to this achievement. Securing the 2nd Position in the Tourism Ideathon 2026 marks a significant milestone for the club and Government Serchhip College and has further encouraged the students to participate actively in tourism-related initiatives and explore innovative ideas for promoting tourism in Mizoram.
