On 11 June 2026, Green Mizoram Day was observed by the NSS Unit and Eco-Club, Government Serchhip College, with a tree plantation programme at the NSS plantation site. As part of the initiative to promote environmental conservation and increase green cover, volunteers planted 15 tree saplings in the designated area.

A total of 32 volunteers, comprising 12 female and 20 male volunteers, actively participated in the programme. The activity was conducted under the guidance and supervision of two Programme Officers. Participants worked together to plant and properly secure the saplings, emphasizing the importance of tree planting in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change.

The programme served as an opportunity to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage students to take responsibility for preserving nature. The event concluded successfully with a commitment from the volunteers to care for the planted saplings and contribute towards a greener and healthier Mizoram.
