GOVERNMENT SERCHHIP COLLEGE - SCIENCE DEPARTMENT WINS 1ST PRIZE IN VIDEO MAKING COMPETITION

6th Semester Students and teachers of Science Department, GSC has secured 1st Prize in the Video Making Competition (College Category) organized as part of the National Science Day 2025 celebrations. The competition was held under the theme "Traditional Knowledge in Agriculture," recognizing innovative presentations of indigenous farming practices and their scientific significance.
The prize distribution ceremony took place at Mission Veng, Aizawl, on 28th February 2025 where five 6th semester science students along with Mr. Tommy Lalmalsawma, Assistant Professor, represented the college. The announcement of the award was met with enthusiasm and pride, as the students' effort and creativity in showcasing traditional agricultural knowledge were highly appreciated.
The event, catalyzed by the National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), DST, Government of India, and organized by the Mizoram Science, Technology & Innovation Council (MISTIC), aimed to encourage young minds to explore the role of traditional knowledge in modern scientific development.
Winning this competition is a significant achievement for Government Serchhip College, highlighting the students’ and teachers' dedication and the institution’s commitment to promoting scientific awareness and cultural heritage through innovative platforms.
