Government Serchhip College celebrated International Mother Tongue Day today with an event organized by the Department of Mizo in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The program took place at Block B, Room No. 102, at 1:30 PM and was attended by final-year B.A. and B.Sc. students.
Mr. RLC Khawlianthawma presided over the event as Chairman, while Mr. C. Ngurdingliana served as the Resource Person. In his address, Mr. Ngurdingliana provided insights into the origins of International Mother Tongue Day and emphasized the vital role of one’s mother tongue in personal growth and national development.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Jeanie Lalthanpari Poonte, a member of the IQAC Core Committee.
This observance underscored the significance of linguistic heritage and reinforced the importance of preserving and promoting mother tongues for cultural and intellectual growth.
