FINISHING SCHOOL DAY 3

Day 3: 29th May 2025
The third day of Finishing School Workshop focused on practical, hands-on training across multiple vocational fields. Students were grouped into four categories based on their interests, each receiving both theoretical grounding and experiential learning aimed at enhancing employability and encouraging self-reliance.

Group 1: Basic Excel Skills was conducted by Mr. Vanladingngheta Varte, Field Engineer at the 5G Lab, GSC. The session covered essential spreadsheet functions.

Group 2: Basic Hair Cutting Course was led by Mrs. T. Nunpari, an experienced beautician. She guided students through the use of hairstyling tools and basic haircutting techniques.

Group 3: Domestic Wiring, Maintenance, and Repair was facilitated by Dr. Jonathan Lalnunsiama, Assistant Professor from the Department of Physics, GSC. The training provided fundamental knowledge on electrical wiring, safety protocols, and minor appliance repairs relevant for household and small business needs.

Group 4: Ginger Beer & Ginger Candy Making was spearheaded by the team from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Serchhip (North Vanlaiphai). The resource persons, successful KVK farmers Mr. Larchhuakmawia and Mrs. Lalngaihsangi, taught students how to prepare ginger beer and ginger candy. They also shared insights into how they turned these value-added products into a thriving entrepreneurial venture, inspiring students to consider similar paths.
