FDP IN OBSERVANCE OF WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

On 8th October 2026, in observance of World Mental Health Day, The  Faculty and Non-Teaching Staff Development Committee  in  collaboration with the Mental Health and Counselling Cell, organized a seminar on Stress Management.

Dr. K. Sarah, the resource person, spoke about the meaning and types of stress along with its common sources and effects on the body, mood and behaviour. She also highlighted practical ways to manage stress.

The seminar emphasised the importance of recognising stress early and adopting healthy coping strategies to maintain mental and emotional well-being. Participants were also encouraged to seek support whenever necessary.

At the end of the seminar, the audience participated in a guided breathing activity, allowing them to practise a simple relaxation technique to calm the mind and relieve tension.

The programme served as a valuable reminder that caring for our mental health is essential for maintaining a healthy, balanced and fulfilling life.
