EXPOSURE VISIT - DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

The Department of Chemistry, Government Serchhip College, in collaboration with the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Serchhip District, organized an exposure visit to the Betel Vine Cultivation site in Chhiahtlang oN 13th March 2025. The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the chemical aspects of betel vine cultivation, including soil composition, nutrient requirements, and the biochemical properties of betel leaves. The farm owner, Mr. Lianhnuna, guided the students through the site, explaining the role of various organic compounds in plant growth and the chemical processes involved in leaf curing and preservation. His insights helped students understand the scientific principles behind agricultural practices and the economic significance of betel vine production in the region.
