EXPOSURE VISIT - DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY

The Department of Botany at Government Serchhip College, in collaboration with the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Serchhip District, organized an exposure visit on 13th March 2025 to a betel vine cultivation site in Chhiahtlang, Serchhip District. Botany students from the 6th, 4th, and 2nd semesters participated in the visit, accompanied by three faculty members.

The initial program was led by Mrs. Lalchhuansangi, Project Director of ATMA. During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore and gain firsthand knowledge of the cultivation process. The farm owner, Mr. Lianhnuna, personally guided them, offering valuable insights into various aspects of betel vine farming, including planting techniques, maintenance, and harvesting methods. His expertise and practical demonstrations enhanced the students' understanding of sustainable agricultural practices and the economic importance of betel vine cultivation in the region.

This successful program is a result of the MoU signed between the two institutions, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
