DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION VISIT TO ANGANWADI CENTRE-I, NEW SERCHHIP

Report on Visit to Anganwadi Centre-I,
New Serchhip

On 18th March 2026, the Department of Education, Government Serchhip College, organized a visit to Anganwadi Centre-I, New Serchhip, as an integral part of the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) syllabus. The visit was carried out by students of Education (Major and Minor) along with faculty members, with the objective of promoting awareness of child care, nutrition, and early childhood education.

The team was warmly welcomed by Ms. Annette Vanlalhmamgaihzuali, the Anganwadi Worker. She delivered an informative session highlighting the methods of child care, strategies for engaging children in learning activities, and the significance of using Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) in early education. Her interaction provided valuable practical insights to the students. After this session, students were divided into ten groups and assigned the task of preparing TLMs for use in the Anganwadi Centre, encouraging creativity and hands-on learning.

The visit concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. H. Lalrinfeli, Asst. Professor. This was followed by a group photo session and the distribution of refreshments to the Anganwadi children.
