College Week 2024 Report - Day 2

Venue: Khawtetlang Field (Morning) & College Campus (Afternoon)
The second day of College Week 2024 began at Khawtetlang Field with an energetic Mixed Relay Race at 9:30 a.m., with Black House taking first place, Blue House finishing second, and White House securing third. This was followed by the Shot Put event for boys and girls at 10:30 a.m., where Vanlalchhuanawma of Black House and Hualthanpuii, also from Black House, emerged as champions. Omega Lalhmachhuana from Red House and Ramngaihawma from White House finished in the top three for boys, while Saitluangpuii from Blue House and Vanlalthasangi from Red House secured the top spots for girls.
The morning continued with the Javelin event at 11:15 a.m. Ramngaihawma from White House won for the boys, and Hualthanpuii from Black House led in the girls’ category, showcasing remarkable skill. At noon, the Long Jump event saw Vanmalsawma from Black House and Malsawmsangi from White House securing first place in the boys' and girls' categories, respectively. High Jump began at 1:00 p.m., with Vanmalsawma and Malsawmsangi again taking the lead for their houses.
The traditional Insuknawr (Bamboo Dance) event, a favorite among participants, was held at 1:45 p.m., with Black House coming out on top, followed by White House and Blue House. The Tug of War competition at 2:30 p.m. added more excitement to the day. Black House won in the boys’ division, while Blue House claimed victory for the girls, rounding off the morning's events.
In the afternoon, the venue shifted to the college campus for the much-anticipated basketball match. The day’s activities culminated in a thrilling game between Blue and White House, wrapping up a day filled with athleticism, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Day 2 of College Week 2024 showcased outstanding performances and fostered a sense of unity and friendly competition among the houses.
