CLEANLINESS DRIVE HELD SUCCESSFULLY

A cleanliness drive was successfully conducted at Government Serchhip College on 22 January 2026 under the joint initiative of the NSS Unit, Eco Club, and Swachh Bharat Cell of the college, with the objective of promoting hygiene, environmental awareness, and social responsibility among students. The programme commenced at 2:30 p.m. with a brief orientation session led by the NSS Programme Officer and the Teachers-in-Charge of the Eco Club and Swachh Bharat Unit, who emphasized the importance of cleanliness, personal responsibility, and proper methods of waste segregation and disposal.

Following the orientation, students were systematically divided into groups and assigned various areas of the campus, including classrooms, corridors, gardens, and the surrounding premises. During the drive, participants actively collected dry and wet waste separately using gloves and appropriate garbage collection materials, ensuring safe and effective cleaning of the campus. The programme was carried out smoothly and concluded successfully, reinforcing the values of cleanliness, environmental consciousness, and collective responsibility among the participants.
