CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY, 2025 & 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF BBBP SCHEME


To commemorate National Girl Child Day 2025 and the 10th anniversary of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, the District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Women & Child Development, Government of Mizoram, in collaboration with the NSS Unit & Women Cell, Government Serchhip College, hosted a Public Speaking Competition on 21st January, 2025, at Pisapui Hall, DC Office, Serchhip.

The program commenced with a stirring keynote address by the Chief Guest,  Paul L. Khuma MCS, Deputy Commissioner, Serchhip, which set the tone for the event. A comprehensive report on the endeavors of the Women & Child Development Department was subsequently presented followedby pledge taking ceremony. The Public Speaking Competition then unfolded, featuring students from Government Serchhip College who articulated their visions and strategies on the theme "Empowering Girls for a Bright Future" with remarkable eloquence and conviction.

The judges were impressed by the exceptional oratory skills displayed by the participants, whose thought-provoking presentations left a lasting impact on the audience. The winners were announced, with Maria Zomuanpuii (2nd Semester BA) securing the first prize, Lalnghakliani (4th Semester BA) taking the second prize, and Vanlalawmpuii (4th Semester BA) winning the third prize.

The program concluded with a gracious vote of thanks from Mrs. Vl Remruatpuii, Gender Specialist,  bringing to a close an enriching and empowering celebration of the girl child.
