In accordance with the prescribed CBCS curriculum and fulfilling the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Department of Botany and ATMA, Serchhip, core students embarked on a Botany Field Trip on October 3, 2024, to Zawlpui Zau, departing from the college at 10:00 am. Under the expert supervision of Teachers-in-Charge, Sir Laldinpuia Rokhum and Sir Tommy Lalmalsawma Colney, the field visit enabled students to engage in immersive field activities.
The trip provided a unique opportunity for students to interact with farmers, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience and exploring agricultural botany, plant pathology, and environmental science. Through hands-on activities comprising agricultural plant studies, disease diagnosis, and specimen collection, students gained valuable insights into sustainable agricultural practices, pest management strategies, and ecological balance. Amidst breathtaking natural surroundings, students developed a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of human activities and environmental sustainability.
