ACTIVITY 6: CLEANLINESS DRIVE IN OBSERVANCE OF SWACHHATA HI SEVA AT SESAH, SERCHHIP
On September 28, 2024, Government Serchhip College's NSS Unit and Youth Adventure Club collaborated to organize a targeted cleanliness drive at Sesah, Serchhip, in commemoration of Swachhata Hi Seva. The primary objective of this initiative was to restore the riverbanks of Sesah, a densely utilized area for vehicle washing and other local activities.
Recognizing the challenges posed by the inaccessible terrain, the team employed innovative methods to navigate the riverbanks. Utilizing ropes, the six-member team – comprising two female and four male volunteers – successfully cleaned the designated area and extracted accumulated garbage.
Notably, this location has been a recurring focus of NSS's cleanliness efforts in previous years. By revisiting this site, the team reinforced their commitment to sustaining environmental improvements and promoting community well-being.
