6TH SEMESTER STUDY TOUR

6th Semester Study Tour to Rih Dil, Indo-Myanmar Border Region

As part of their academic programme, the 6th Semester students embarked on a study tour to Rih Dil and the Indo-Myanmar border region. The tour was conducted in two groups—Group 1 from 12th to 14th June and Group 2 from 17th to 19th June 2025. The objective was to provide students with practical exposure to the region's geography, culture, and cross-border ethnic ties.

Both groups followed a similar route, travelling from Serchhip to Champhai and visiting Rih Dil, a culturally significant lake located near the Indo-Myanmar border. They explored the surrounding areas to gain insight into the historical, ethnic, and cultural connections shared across the border.

On the third day, during the return journey, both groups visited Ţam Dil, a well-known tourist destination renowned for its natural beauty. The visit added a recreational and environmental learning element to the trip.

Group 1 returned on 14th June after a two-night stay in Champhai, while Group 2 completed their trip on 19th June following a similar two-night stay. Minor travel issues were encountered by Group 1, but all students returned safely.

The study tour was a valuable academic and cultural experience. It enhanced the students’ understanding of cross-border relations and local traditions, while visits to Rih Dil and Țam Dil encouraged learning beyond the classroom and strengthened camaraderie among participants.
