4th ANNUAL DAY & 1st GRADUATION DAY OF GOVERNMENT SERCHHIP COLLEGE


Government Serchhip College celebrated its 4th Annual Day along with its 1st Graduation Day with great enthusiasm and solemnity on 29th August 2025, 1:30pm at HD Rosanga Multipurpose Hall in the College Campus. The programme began with the arrival and seating of dignitaries, parents, graduates, faculty, and students, followed by a processional and the rendering of the National Anthem.

Welcome and Addresses
Vanlalmawipuii (III Semester BA) and B. Lalramsanga (V Semester BA) served as the Masters of Ceremony for the event.

The celebration commenced with a Welcome Address delivered by Pu C. Laldintluanga, Principal, who warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the significance of the occasion.

This was followed by the Keynote Address from the Chief Guest, Pu Paul L. Khuma, MCS, Deputy Commissioner of Serchhip. In his speech, he first spoke on the important issue of Drug Awareness and Abuse, urging students and parents to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing this challenge. He then turned to the graduates, remarking on how fortunate they were to be seated as graduates on this historic day. He encouraged them to cherish this achievement, set ambitious goals, and begin working towards them immediately with commitment and determination.

Conferring of Degrees and Graduation Speech

One of the most awaited moments of the day was the Conferring of Degrees, graciously officiated by Pu Paul L. Khuma, MCS, Deputy Commissioner of Serchhip District. The event marked a historic milestone as the College held its first-ever graduation ceremony, formally recognizing the academic achievements of its graduating students.

The Graduation Speech was delivered by Benjamin Lalhmangaikhima, SU Vice President (2024–2025), who expressed gratitude on behalf of the graduates and encouraged his peers to carry forward the values of hard work and dedication.

Awards and Recognition

The programme further included the recognition of graduates and presentation of awards. Pu Vanlalchanchinthahrilmawia, Associate Professor, Department of Mizo and President, MCTA Serchhip Branch, honored graduates with the MCTA Award, recognizing the Top Scorers of each Department for their outstanding academic performance.

The Recognition of the Valedictorian was conducted by Prof. C. Sangluaii, who presented a Citation, Cash Award, and Memento to the graduate securing the highest CGPA among the batch. This special award was given to Vanlalhriatrenga, Department of Chemistry and the award was sponsored by the Alumni Association of the College, as a gesture of encouragement and recognition of excellence.

In addition, the Annual Report of the College was officially released by the Principal, highlighting the key activities, achievements, and progress of the institution during the academic year.

Best Department Award: Department of Botany

Student of the Year Award: K. Lalnunhlima, Dept of Chemistry

These awards reflected the institution’s commitment to promoting not only academic excellence but also extracurricular achievements and comprehensive student development.

Vote of Thanks and Conclusion

The formal programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Zarzosanga, Chairman of the Convocation Committee, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty, students, and parents for their contributions to making the day a success. The event ended with a photo session, capturing the memorable moments of this historic occasion.

The 4th Annual Day and 1st Graduation Day of Govt. Serchhip College was indeed a momentous celebration, marking both tradition and progress, and leaving an inspiring message of hope and achievement for the graduating class and the entire college community.
