The 3rd GSC Winter Fest cum Edufest was organized by the Organizing Committee during 5th-6th December, 2024 at the college campus. The Fest was inaugurated by the District Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Paul L. Khuma, MCS who visited the various stalls set up for the Fest. A notable feature of this year's Winter Fest was the fact that Edufest was simultaneously held during the first day of the Fest, the first of its kind, not only for the college, but also for the town of Serchhip. Nine educational institutions, namely, JJ Personality, NIELIT, KVK, North Vanlaiphai, ICFAI University, Thar thil Thlentu (TiLi), HDFC Bank, MSACS, Mizoram and NYKS, Serchhip set up edustalls and offered insightful guidance on career and business opportunities available at their own respective institutions. Moreover, in collaboration with NYKS, Serchhip, Science Mela was organized within the Edufest, wherein, students from science departments as well as students from various schools within the district competed against each other, displaying marvelous science exhibits during the Fest. Besides, also sponsored by NYKS, Reel making competition, Club Exhibition, Painting, Essay writing and Declamation competitions were organized, with the Art Club of the college also organizing an eventful Art Exhibition, where skillful handiworks, paintings and drawings were exhibited and put up for sale for visitors. 14 Clubs under the college, manned by our own students opened various entertainment and game stalls to add fun and vibe to the Winter Fest, with six food, beverages and eatery stalls, all outsourced to outside entrepreneurs providing varieties of cuisines, drinks and takeaway food items, adding to the vibrancy of the Fest. Children Fun zone was also established exclusively for children, in collaboration with Hannah's Playworld, Aizawl. The first day of the Fest concluded with an eye-catching Cosplay Competition (MCO), organized by the Organizing Committee in collaboration with the Mizoram Cosplay Organization, Aizawl. 15 kids and 7 adult contestants vied for the elusive kids and adult category cosplay contests respectively, with artistic cosplayers from Aizawl, two of whom had even represented India at the International Cosplay festival held in Japan earlier in the year mesmerizing the crowds with their glittering costumes and goose-bumping special performances that simply awed the crowds. The second day of the Fest was an all and all entertainment festival, with crowds from near and far flocking into the campus to experience the thrills and spills of the vibrant Winter Fest. The Fest was concluded with a rapturous musical concert, wherein, two top singers having a huge fanbase, namely, Ruatpuii, a well known singer and Mawimawia, a rising star from the recently concluded Youth Icon reality show captivated the huge crowd with their soulful voices and enthralling stage performances, with young talents from our very own, also enchanting the audience with their alluring voices and riveting dance performances. All in all, as always, the 3rd GSC Winter Fest cum Edufest was a great success, just like the preceding Fests in the yesteryears. It is also noteworthy to mention that the 3rd GSC Winter Fest and Edufest had received sponsorships and co-sponsorships from various external agencies, namely, the Chief Minister's Office, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Serchhip District, District Disaster Management Authority, DC Office, Serchhip, FOCUS, Serchhip, PHE Department, Serchhip, Infinite Space, Aizawl, Dingdi Puan, Aizawl, MSACS, Mizoram, NYKS, Serchhip, KVK: North Vanlaiphai, Serchhip and UD&PA Department, Serchhip, to whom we are immensely grateful for their invaluable support and contribution.
