PHUNCHAWNG CULTURAL CLUB REPORT ON ZOFEST 2024

From 3-6 December 2024, six members of the Phunchawng Cultural Club, along with four representatives from the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) Serchhip Sub-Headquarters, traveled to W. Phaileng to attend and participate in the Zofest celebration. On the night of December 4, 2024, the Phunchawng Cultural Club proudly performed the traditional Tlanglam dance during the prestigious Zofest celebration at W. Phaileng.

The club took the stage amidst great anticipation from the audience. The visit to W. Phaileng and participation in Zofest was a resounding success, as it not only provided an opportunity to celebrate and promote Mizo culture but also strengthened relationships between the club, the MZP, and the local community.

3RD WINTER FEST & 1ST EDU FEST REVIEW MEETING

A review meeting was held on December 9, 2024, to evaluate the recently concluded 3rd Winter Fest and 1st Edu Fest, held on December 5 and 6, 2024. The meeting included the Organizing Committee and leaders of each club, and was chaired by the Winter Fest Organizing Chairman, Mr. K. Lalrinchhana. He began by inviting club representatives to present reports on the profits and losses incurred from their stalls during the fest. While most clubs reported significant profits, with the Literature Club achieving the highest earnings among them, a few clubs faced losses. Some representatives emphasized activities that were highly successful and worth repeating, while others identified those that proved to be less financially viable.

The chairman commended all clubs for their enthusiastic participation and acknowledged the contributions of the NCC Air and Army wings for ensuring campus security during the heavily attended festival. Dr. Lalremsiami Hrahsel, the Chairman of the Winter Fest Decoration Committee, provided a detailed account of the expenses incurred on decorations, and Dr. Zarzosanga, the Organizing Secretary, also presented a comprehensive report on the event.

The Principal, Mr. C. Laldintluanga, expressed his gratitude to the students and everyone involved in making the event a success. He noted that, based on public feedback and his observations, this was the most successful fest held in the past three years.
