The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Zoramthanga laid the Foundation Stone of the Administrative Building of Government Serchhip College on the 18th February, 2023. The fund for this building 6.5 Crore was received from Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI). The laying of Foundation Stone was followed by an elaborate function organised at the Academic Building ground. The Chief Minister graced the function as the Chief Guest, accompanied by a few officials from Aizawl. Social Welfare Minister Er. Lalrinawma was the Guest of Honour.

The Chief Minister gave an enlightening speech on the measures he took in acquiring fund for the establishment of a new Administrative Building. He promised the College that he will always be at an arm’s reach, and in the meantime extending his good wish for the swift construction of the new building. He also mentioned how he has a few projects prepared for Serchhip District and talked extensively about the importance of prioritizing God in everything. Guest of Honour, Er.Lalrinawma, Cabinet Minister and District Commissioner of Serchhip Pi Nazuk Kumar also shared a few words.

Pi K. Laldinpuii , Principal, who led the function praised the Chief Minister for his selfless efforts in helping the College reach great heights. Engineer-in-Chief of PWD, Pu C. Lianhmingthanga also gave technical report on the planning of Administrative Building. The many dignitaries attending the function include Pu C. Lalramzauva, Adviser to CM, Pu Stephen Lalrinawma, Superintendent of Police, Pi Lalthansangi Fanai, Joint Director of Higher & Technical Education Department as well as Public Works Department and Head of Offices within Serchhip District. Pu C. Laldintluanga, Vice Principal gave Vote of Thanks.

The construction of the Administrative Building is planned to start on the 27th of February, 2023, for a duration of two years.
