On 27th March 2021, The Eco club, Govt. Serchhip College organised “Nature watch cum cleanliness programme” at Êntlang hill. Number of students participated in this programme. The main purpose of the programme was to study and observed the different flora and fauna in and around Êntlang area and to understand the nature and distribution of different species of plants and animals.

Cleanliness drive was also conducted by the Swachh Bharat Sub committee and the NSS unit to restore the natural beauty of the place by collecting non-biodegradable wastes littered by other visitors. “Bird watching programme” was also included in the Nature walk Programme which gave the Students the opportunity to study and observed different birds in their natural habitat.On the 26th of March, 2021, Govt.Serchhip College NSS Unit and Nehru Uva Kendra Sangathan (NYK) Serchhip District jointly orgainised “Poshan Pakhwada 2021” at the college smart classroom. The function was presided over by C.Lalramliana, Programme Officer, NSS Unit, Govt. Serchhip College. Vanlalthanpuii Fanai, 6th.Semester BA, presented a beautiful song and was followed by a speech from the resource person Dr.Lalremsiami Hrahsel, Dept.of Botany. She highlights the importance of balanced diet and nutritious foods in our daily life and for the improvement of the nutritional status of the community through a power point presentation. The function was concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr.Lalhmangaihzuali Ralte, Programme Officer, NSS Unit, Govt.Serchhip College.

Govt. Serchhip College on the 19th of March, 2021 01:30 p.m, held a seminar in 20 on the topic of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.

After a brief introduction, a presentation on ‘India’s Freedom Struggle’ was exhibited by K. Lalrinchhana who is an Assistant Professor and the HOD for the the Department of History. He elaborated in detail the struggles made by the Indians against the colonial pressures put forth by the British empire, and the subsequent changes that resulted in the making of modern India.

The programme was presided over by C. Laldintluanga, Associate Professor & Head for the Department of Economics, who briefed the audiences that the event was mandatory in all higher educational institutions in the country. This briefing was followed by a vote of thanks from the Principal, P.C. Lalremsiama to conclude the seminar.

Govt. Serchhip College currently houses 13 distinct department with 57 faculties, alongside 408 students at the moment.

On the 2nd of March, 2021, Govt. Serchhip College organized a re-opening of its academic semester. The programme was graced by the Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Zoramthanga at the college volleyball court, under a strict maintenance of SOP guidelines by the Government of India.

The programme was presided over by the Principal of the college, P.C. Lalremsiama who proffer the Chief Minister an open air speech. Pu Zoramthanga elaborated the importance of goodwill amongst colleagues and classmates alike, proposing that alliance of the past can reflect greatly in the future and in all walks of life. He insists that the students should learn from exemplary persons in history for a lesson in determination and focus, citing remarkable accomplishments from the greats.

The re-opening ceremony was concluded with the Principal ushering the Chief Minister in and around the vicinity, and emphasized overture on the office building which requires attention if not an immediate restructuring.

The Chief Minister was assisted by Sr Advocate and Adviser to the CM, Pu C. Lalramzauva, Pu Kumar Abhishek IAS Deputy Commissioner, Serchhip District and a good number of district officers.
